A simple, decent leather gambeson will serve you equally well both as the underarmor and decent short mens Viking costume. For your convenience, we can offer two ways of tailoring this mens Viking padded leather armor:

Machine manufacturing, which is means using sewing machine by our tailors, when they will make padded armor by your parameters.

Hand sewing – custom one, when gambeson will be completely sewn by hands of our tailors, stich-by-stich. This custom historical one type offered for additional costs.

Base price version, which you can see at photo includes:

• 2 layers of padding (natural sheet wadding 50% cotton, 50% wool);
• Natural leather (orange-brown) for outer shell;
• Natural (uncolored) cotton or linen for inner shell;
• Sleeves’ full-attaching (closed armpit);
• Third-length sleeves;
• Orange-brown leather strings in front for fastening;
• Straight bottom edge;
• No fastenings for steel arms.

However, if you need other Viking padded leather armor, additional options will help you create personalized model of padded leather gambeson. All leather colors that we have are available for order. Even if you choose half-colored or quarter-colored padded defense, all we need to know is what colors you prefer and its exact disposition, and we sew that gambison for you. If you want both sleeved and sleeveless gambisons, please use option “Laced sleeves”.

Quantity of padding layer depends on the main armour. If you plan to wear padded armor under the chain mail, so 5-6 layers will be fine. If there will be usual plate armour or brigandine, so 2-3 layers of natural wadding for this quilted gambeson is enough.
