For the price, good. Just keep in mind the leather thongs will eventually break, this happened to me during a fight. Additionally, side of the thumb is unprotected, got hit there with a 2 handed SCA sword and the result was a smashed thumb. The palm straps stretch over time so keep them in check, or your fingers may find their way in between the sword handle and the plates, which, if hit, would be a big ouch. I can recommend these for spear work and perhaps for sword and axe work with shield. Not recommended for polarm or other two-handed weapon work. Note also the wrist area does not have a metal plate.

Absolutely amazing craftsmanship and to coin the phrase they fit like a glove. Can't wait to test them out at my Greman Longsword class this week!

fits great, looks even better. they are very, very close to the original gauntlets, so they're great for reenactment. the fit is good, i can sign my name in them, and they are comfortable enough. as with any gauntlet, wearing them will take a lot of getting used to, but it's worth it. the straps that hold the cuff closed can be used to attach the gauntlets to your belt when not in use, which is surprisingly useful. finally, the only problems i've found are that when they arrived the leather was slightly stiff, which was fixed simply by wearing them until they formed to my hands, and that the lining glove is a little bit too short, and can get in the way occasionally. it should also be noted that this style of cuff limits wrist mobility, so if that worries you, then you may want to ask for a different style of cuff, but that is not really a problem, it's simply a fact about Visby gauntlets that one should consider before ordering. overall, i'd give them a 4.8 out of 5, almost perfect

Some good stuff. Trusty and hard. A bit unprotected on the inside but glorious on the shell. Had a few difficulty to get them cause of postal services but an excellent client service from Steel Mastery saved the day. Thanks again.
