Renaissance period gambeson was widespread among knights in the XVI-XVII centuries. It has typical for this time short waist-line cut. Such a design provides great flexibility allowing wear it as gambeson armor and waistcoat.
Base price includes following options:
- 1-2 layers of padding (natural sheet wadding 50% cotton, 50% wool);
- red cotton for outer and inner shell;
- Standard sleeves’ attaching (closed armpit);
- XS-size;
- Black leather straps;
- Straight bottom edge;
- No fastenings for steel arms.

If you are looking for a padded gambeson of the earlier Middle Ages, please have a look at these models: aketon of the XV century, arming doublet/aketon of the 1360 year. Also, there are some models of long and short-sleeved gambesons: HEMA style gambeson, early medieval gambeson.

Stock items may be returned within 14 days if unused. Return shipping is covered by the customer; refunds apply to item price only. Custom-made items are non-refundable unless there is a manufacturing defect or our mistake, in such cases we will remake or refund at our expense. Lost parcels are covered — we will investigate and resend if needed.
By default, all orders are shipped via Ukrainian National Post or Nova Poshta, at the sole discretion of Steel Mastery. The carrier delivers the parcel to your local postal service or pickup point. Tracking details are provided after dispatch. Express courier services (such as DHL, etc.) are available only upon request via email and are subject to additional cost and confirmation.
Custom-made items require production time before shipment. Estimated production time:
- Leather accessories – 2–4 weeks;
- Clothes – 2–8 weeks;
- Gambeson and padded armor – 8–12 weeks;
- Brigandines – 1–3 months;
- Metal armor – 2–7 months.
