"Bird" medieval badge, England, 14-15th cent. Brass cast. Size 35x30 mm. The bird badge refers to secular badges associated with a love theme as it symbolizes joy, liveliness, merriment, song and singing every day. There are also a number of medieval songs (including the unofficial Provençal hymn "Ce canto"), where the bird relates a girl's message to her lover or "sings to a sweet friend, who is in a distant land". Based on the book "Pilgrim Souvenirs and Secular Badges" by Brian Spencer.

Badges were used by medieval pilgrims as souvenirs from the holy places which they had attended, as tangible proves of attendance such a holy place, as remedies with miraculous properties. Each place of cult had it's own badges so seeing a pilgrim wearing certain badges one could name the places which this pilgrim had visited. Medieval badge "Tight purse". Depicts a tightly packed, fashionable in the middle of the XV century, belt purse, shape resembling an inverted fan. They were worn to attract wealth, good luck and abundance. It also became popular at this time to wear "good luck" coins. Netherlands, 1375-1425. From the book "Sieraad en devotie in middeleews vlaandreen" by Jos Kolderweij. Size 45x40 mm.

This amulet depicts the Norse god Tyr, a supreme deity in Scandinavian mythology and the son of Odin. Known as the god of war, Tyr courageously battles against the chthonic forces, embodying the valor and strength of the warrior spirit. The amulet portrays him as one-handed, a poignant representation stemming from the sacrifice of his right hand to the wolf Fenrir. This sacrifice occurred when the gods, known as the Aesir, bound Fenrir with unbreakable chains. Despite the physical loss, Tyr stands unwavering as the guardian of martial principles.
