Brigandine bracers are know from the X century and they were popular among european warriors and the eastern tribes. It has been used together with mail, but with the appearance of plate armour it became less actual. These short brigandine bracers are made of thick (4-6 mm or 15/10-23/10 inches) croupon leather with rivetted metal plates. Bracers are being fixed on your arms with high-quality leather straps and provides good protection during the battles with wood or plastic weapon. Splinted protection of limbs was very popular among the european and asian warriors in the XIV-XVI centuries. This model of medieval splinted protection for upper arm is made of croupon leather with thickness 3.5-4 mm and narrow metal plates of normal steel 1.0 mm. You can choose another metal and its thickness in options. Plates are reveted with steel rivets to the leather from the inner and outer sides of armour. There are also leather belts with steel buckles for the fixation on the arm. Brigandine and splinted bracers of XV century will be a good addition to this protection. Cold-rolled steel plates of 1.0 mm are riveted from the inner side of matted firm leather. Additional leather strips are riveted from the outer side. There is an armor must-have, rough but reliable classics of European armor of the middle – 2nd part of the XIV century. Even if there are still discussions about brigandine's reliability up to now, so perfect protective qualities and robustness of Visby brigandine gauntlets (which had been also found on island Gotland, Sweden) are beyond doubts. Archaeologists excavated fragments of 18 gauntlets, but today we are interested only at the model, which is referred to the so-called “Type III” and “Type II” just a little.
