Barbute is type of popular helmet in Italy of the XV century. Due to cheek guards, face is largely covered. Ethimologically, the word “barbute” is derived from Italian “Barba”, what means “beard”. It can be interpreted as “Bearded helm”: cheeck guards or beard, staring from under the helm are meant. This model of barbute type helmet can be made of cold-rolled or stainless steel of 1.5 mm, 2 mm or 2.5 mm.
