Helmet of Nikolsoe is named in honour of village Nikolskoe(Orel region, Russia), where it was found. Type IV in helmets' classification of A. Kirpichnikov. Such medieval helmets were widespread among tribes on the Salvic lands and eastern tribes in the end of XII-early XIII centuries. Dome of helmet is fluted for better firmness. There are welded seams inside the helmet for additional protection. Half-mask with eye-holes and nasal plate are being rivetted to the dome with steel or brass rivets.
