Helmet Chapel-de-Fer was popular among the infantry in the XIII-XVI centuries because of low price and easy producing. Such head protection is a type of medieval helmet Kettle hat – a steel cap with wide brims.
Chapel with bar grill visor and additional plate for neck protection is compliant to SCA-standards and is perfect for medieval tournaments and bohurts. Distance between the rods is 1.8-2 cm. For better protection, we recommend to wear Chapel-de-fer with mail coif or leather aventail, as medieval warriors did.
Helmet is fixed with underchin leather belt and buckle on the head.

Base price includes following options:

Stock items may be returned within 14 days if unused. Return shipping is covered by the customer; refunds apply to item price only. Custom-made items are non-refundable unless there is a manufacturing defect or our mistake, in such cases we will remake or refund at our expense. Lost parcels are covered — we will investigate and resend if needed.
By default, all orders are shipped via Ukrainian National Post or Nova Poshta, at the sole discretion of Steel Mastery. The carrier delivers the parcel to your local postal service or pickup point. Tracking details are provided after dispatch. Express courier services (such as DHL, etc.) are available only upon request via email and are subject to additional cost and confirmation.
Custom-made items require production time before shipment. Estimated production time:
- Leather accessories – 2–4 weeks;
- Clothes – 2–8 weeks;
- Gambeson and padded armor – 8–12 weeks;
- Brigandines – 1–3 months;
- Metal armor – 2–7 months.
