Description

Helmet Bascinet of the XIV century was popular among medieval warriors all over Europe. Such head armor had various design with one main feature – they proved with perfect protection during the battle.

This functional steel bascinet has bar grill visor, which is attached to the dome of helmet with two side hinges. Distance between rods is 1.8-2.0 mm, that is totally compliant to SCA-standards. For additional protection of neck, throat and shoulders, we recommend to use this medieval helm with mail aventail.

Helm bascinet is completely handcrafted by parameters of customer.

Bascinet Hounskull (or Hundsgugel) is a type of medieval head protection, which was widespread in the XIV among knights of all social classes. Helmet with extended visor “Hounskull” looked like a dog muzzle, so it got such name. Visor could be attached to the dome with hinge on the forehead part (so-called “klappvisor”) or with one or two hinges on the sides. Numerous holes on visor and eye slits provide with perfect ventilation and vision. Our version of battle basinet is decorated with cross on the cheek. Closed cavalry helmet armet was widespread in the XV-XVI centuries. This model of classical tournament medieval helm armor has typical features: spherical shape of dome; movable gorget; movable visor.
