The Flanders Brigandine (1430-1450).
The Flanders Brigandine was a type of body armor characterized by its distinctive construction. Unlike full plate armor, which consisted of large, interlocking metal plates, the brigandine was composed of smaller, overlapping metal plates attached to a fabric or leather base.
The plates were meticulously arranged and sewn onto a sturdy cloth or leather foundation. The overlapping plates provided excellent protection against various forms of attacks while allowing for a certain degree of flexibility and mobility. The number of plates and their arrangement could vary, resulting in different levels of protection and weight.
