Splinted greaves are a type of medieval leg armor, which was widespread among European and Asian knights in the XIV-XVI centuries.
Splint armor got its name after narrow metal plates – splints. These splints were riveted from the inside and outside to the leather or thick cloth base.
There are numerous historical sources where you can see such limb protection, usually in combination with plate kneecaps and splinted tasses.
