Sabatons 16th century

Sabatons are the plate shoes, which appeared in the XIV century in Italy. Early models had quite long and sharp points. However, later models and these sabatons of the XVI century in particular, have wide and short points.

Such metal foot wear as sabatons were mostly used by cavalry, as this armor was not too comfortable in fighting for dismounted soldiers.

Sabatons are made of seven steel segments, which are connected with rivets. Such design make armoured shoes well-articulated, so you may comfortable walk, ride or run.

Plate sabatons are completely handcrafted by customer’s parameters.
