How to take measurements for helmets

How to take measurements for helmets 2018-10-01

When taking measurements for any item, please be very careful. As good fit of item depends on the correctness and accuracy of taken parameters.

Use only soft measuring tape.

As our helmets are provided with sewn padded liner, so please take measurements over bare head.

For making of medieval armor, we need the following parameters of your head:

1. Head circumference over the forehead

  • hold one end of tape in the middle of your forehead;
  • wrap it around the head;

2. Head circumference over the eyebrows

  • hold one end of tape between your eyebrows;
  • wrap it around the head;

3. Head circumference over the nose

  • hold one end of tape at the tip of your nose;
  • wrap it around the head;

4. Neck circumference

  • take measures over bare body;
  • place one end of tape on the base of neck (dimple);
  • wrap tape around the neck;

5. Head length from the chin to the top of head

  • use ruler and soft tape to take this measurement;
  • place ruler on the top of head;
  • stretch tape from the ruler down to the chin level;

6. Head length from the shoulder to the top of head

  • use ruler and soft tape to take this measurement;
  • place ruler on the top of head;
  • stretch tape from the ruler down to the shoulder level;

7. Height

  • take off your shoes;
  • stand up with your straight back against the wall;
  • place thin book on the top of your head;
  • make a mark with pen under the book;
  • measure distance between the floor to this mark with measuring tape
