Splinted tasses of the XIV-XVI centuries is the best armor for those who is looking for a reliable and authentic leg protection.
Splints (narrow steel strips) are riveted with steel or brass rivets to the firm base of croupon leather 3.5-4 mm thickness from outer and inner sides. There are leather belts with steel buckles installed for the fixation on the thighs.
Such medieval splinted cuisses goes perfectly together with steel kneecaps and plate or splinted greaves. It is highly recommended to wear such tasses over padded or tight fabric chausses.

Stock items may be returned within 14 days if unused. Return shipping is covered by the customer; refunds apply to item price only. Custom-made items are non-refundable unless there is a manufacturing defect or our mistake, in such cases we will remake or refund at our expense. Lost parcels are covered — we will investigate and resend if needed.
By default, all orders are shipped via Ukrainian National Post or Nova Poshta, at the sole discretion of Steel Mastery. The carrier delivers the parcel to your local postal service or pickup point. Tracking details are provided after dispatch. Express courier services (such as DHL, etc.) are available only upon request via email and are subject to additional cost and confirmation.
Custom-made items require production time before shipment. Estimated production time:
- Leather accessories – 2–4 weeks;
- Clothes – 2–8 weeks;
- Gambeson and padded armor – 8–12 weeks;
- Brigandines – 1–3 months;
- Metal armor – 2–7 months.
