This shoulder defense is reliable and comfortable in wearing. Spaulders are supplied with bump stops, which amortize blows during the battle.

Functional battle spaulders are held with leather belts and buckles on the upper part of arm. Additionally, they are laced to the padded underarmor or plate cuirass.
