Medieval badge "Rose and Sun". It depicts a heraldic rose, from which the sun's rays emanate from below. It is a heraldic badge of York, combining images of the key heraldic symbols of the York dynasty: the Rose and the Shining Sun. They could often be combined in accessories reflecting the loyalty of the York dynasty, such as a chain of knights made of roses and shining suns (see article "collar-york"). England, 15th century.
