Both, usual footman and gentle knight were wearing such doublet clothing under the all type of armour. This medieval jacket’s slim-fitted cut works on any figure. We used a figured combination of fabric in two colors and two types of quilting to made gambeson jacket more elegance. It preserved its original appearance today in some national costumes (of the same length or shorter, with long or short sleeves) of such eastern countries as Mongolia, Kazakhstan, etc. This gambeson was not a specialized type of armour.
