Descrizione

If you ever visit the Musee des beaux-arts in Chartres, France, you just can't miss an aketon of Charles VI of France – a rare surviving example of fabric armor from the late XIVth century. We couldn't miss it either. So, being unable to resist we sewed this gorgeous aketon for you. As the saying goes: no need to pray, it's okay, you're welcome.

It completely replicates the original except for the clasp. We decided to move away from the endless little buttons and chose leather straps with buckles as the clasp. They look cooler. But if you prefer it another way – you can order a custom version with buttons. Just don't curse us when you button them all!

Although the original is scarlet red, we just had to make a version in deep blue color with a decoration of gold lilies. And, naturally, the coolest thing about our aketon is its print. Just appreciate how gorgeous these gold French lilies look on the Royal blue field. Heck, this aketon alone even without the knight's collar and crown already gives its wearer a royal look.

Of course, we can make you a more modest aketon, but let's be honest – who would ever wear anything modest when they have this gorgeous padded armor? And we hope we don't need to remind you that you can get a custom version – with a different type of bottom edge, quantity of padding layers, color, and type of fabric of cover and lining, decor, and fasteners. Anything you want.

You give us your specific measures and wishes - we make you a completely custom gambeson that will bring you joy and comfort for a long time!
