When taking measurements for any item, please be very careful. As good fit of item depends on the correctness and accuracy of taken parameters.
Use only soft measuring tape.
Please take measurements over shoes, on which you plan to wear metal sabatons.
For making of medieval armor, we need the following parameters of your foot:
1. Length of foot
- use a piece of paper to take this measure;
- put the foot on the paper (better on the hard surface);
- draw the outline of your foot;
- after this, draw straight lines, which touch each side of your foot’s outline;
- measure the length from the heel to the furthest part of foot with a ruler;
Another way to take this measure is to stretch measuring tape from your toe to the heel.
2. Width of foot
- use a piece of paper to take this measure;
- put the foot on the paper (better on the hard surface);
- draw the outline of your foot;
- after this, draw straight lines, which touch each side of your foot’s outline;
- Measure the widest part of foot with a ruler;
Another way to take this measure is to hold one end of tape on the bone of toe and stretch tape over the foot to the bone of the little toe.
3. Circumference over the ankle (over the bone)
- take measures over the thin pants or bare body;
- hold one end of tape just above the ankle;
- wrap it around;
4. Circumference of the bridge of foot
- hold one end of tape on the heel;
- wrap tape around the bend of foot
5. Size of shoes
Please indicate your regular size of shoes.
