Descripción

Churburg style armor set-1 of the XIV century

Armour in Churburg style was named by an authentic medieval armor that is kept in the castle of Churburg (South Tyrol in the North of Italy) and it belongs to the end of XIV century. During this time on the territory of modern Italy the armour makers start to produce armour of full-plate shells (they would be given the name of Milanese type).

Later on bascinet would be out of use giving way to armet and barbute in Milanese armor. Protection of neck and collarbone was enabled by chain mail aventail, which was attached to the helmet. Chest is covered with a series of plates. The lower part of the stomach and the groin are protected by mail armor. Back is not protected by this piece. It was supposed to be matched with chained armour. Shoulder straps consist of several segments which are put one on top of the other to enable better movement. Elbow pads were enlarged so that there was no need for a shield in the battle. Bracers represent segmented flexible gloves, the metal segments of which covered fingers on the outside. Greaves consist of double-wing metal plates. Hips are protected only on the front side. This piece of Churburg armor does not yet cover entire body of a warrior. Head, chest, stomach and arms are covered only. Grand-bascinet with the type of face guard hundsgugel (which means a “dog’s head”) plays the role of a helmet.

I finally got my armour and it is flawless! Pros and cons: + custom made steel armor which really looks authentic + fits all my measures + possibility to choose customization (I have it of steel 1.5 mm, mirrow finish, brass rivets and red belts. And it is just WOW!:) + top customer support. Always quick replyes, updates on the status of my order + spare parts - belts, rivets and a couple of buckles The only one minus is a waiting time. Manager estimated making time so I was ready to wait. Anyhow if you order such armor for some event, so do it well in advance:) My deepest gratitude to all Steel mastery team for this fantastic work. I am satisfied 100% and will recommend you to all my comrades for sure.
