Base layer is made of soft, but firm wool (or it may be made of natural leather) and absolutely does not hinder the movements and will protect of many thorny troubles. Steel plates are riveted on it, presentably shine under the sunrays, and protect well from sword, blade or even axe (if it is a small one). Brigand armor is fastened on the sides, so mad blow will not chop the buckles. Of course, you will not go to lay siege to a castle, wearing such armor. However, it will perfectly protect of crazy robbers and goblins, who may wander to Bree surrounding.
