The Burgundian doublet of the 15th century represents a distinctive garment that was a staple in men's fashion during the late Middle Ages, particularly in the Burgundy region, which was known for its influential court and elaborate clothing styles. This doublet, crafted from wool and featuring a fitted waist silhouette, reflects both the practical and aesthetic sensibilities of the period.

One of the defining features of the Burgundian doublet was the use of buttons, which were both functional and decorative. These buttons were typically made from materials like metal, bone, or wood, and were often covered with fabric to match the doublet. They ran down the front of the garment, allowing it to be securely fastened and providing a tailored fit.
