Meet this modest and laconic close-helmet incorporating a sallet skull and brow reinforcement with an armet visor. Dating back to 1480, it was found at St Peter's Church, Stourton, Wiltshire and now is exposed at the Royal Armories, Leeds.
It is a typical helmet for the late XVth century, widespread in Italy, France, the Low Countries, Spain, and surely – England. Armet completely encloses the head while being compact and light enough to move.
Original helmet is a little bit rusted and has lost the front gorget plate for which there are holes in the fold of the dome. But we have corrected those shortcomings by recreating a luxurious, sparkling replica of this museum’s old man. And notice the chic golden lily on the back of the head.
We strongly recommend that those wishing to show off in this helmet should order a full set of armor for it. Otherwise, it will be a little painful in battle.
Stock items may be returned within 14 days if unused. Return shipping is covered by the customer; refunds apply to item price only. Custom-made items are non-refundable unless there is a manufacturing defect or our mistake, in such cases we will remake or refund at our expense. Lost parcels are covered — we will investigate and resend if needed.
By default, all orders are shipped via Ukrainian National Post or Nova Poshta, at the sole discretion of Steel Mastery. The carrier delivers the parcel to your local postal service or pickup point. Tracking details are provided after dispatch. Express courier services (such as DHL, etc.) are available only upon request via email and are subject to additional cost and confirmation.
Custom-made items require production time before shipment. Estimated production time:
- Leather accessories – 2–4 weeks;
- Clothes – 2–8 weeks;
- Gambeson and padded armor – 8–12 weeks;
- Brigandines – 1–3 months;
- Metal armor – 2–7 months.
