Landsknecht doublet The Landsknecht short jacket, also known as the Landsknecht doublet or simply Landsknecht jacket, was a distinctive and flamboyant garment worn by Landsknechts, renowned mercenaries of the late 15th and early 16th centuries in Europe.  Made from natural wool with lining decorative inserts.
