Buckler is such an awesome shield type you don't even need a sword with. In fact, if you have a soft armor training buckler, made of sandwich material foam-plastic-foam, covered with oxford fabric, and 35 cm (13.8 inches) diameter, you can get by with one. Also note, that this is an elbow grip type shield. Take this feature into account. The only thing cooler is the soft armor buckler with umbon.
