These plate spaulders are the part of Armor Garniture of George Clifford, Third Earl of Cumberland – authentic medieval armor, the best one from the wide choice of Greenwich workshop in the end of the XVI century. Bearing the imprint of their Italian ancestor, these “so British” spaulders consist of five wide plates, connected with hinge joints and backside belts on the rivets. Unlike most of typical offered items, there is real battle spaulder, designed for dismounted and mounted battles. That’s why they are asymmetrical: left spaulder is larger than right on and hides armpit; right spaulder has specific cut for attaching of pikestaff. Belts with buckles on the lower side allow safely connection with shoulder plates.

After thinking for a while how to decorate these good lookers, blacksmiths of Steel Mastery settled on fine floral ornament, almost the same like Cumberland armor has, but a little bit differ. In your turn, it is up to you to decide, whether you want to decorate your plate spaulders with airy floral ornament or probably with brass lacework. It is your decision, we will fulfill any wish.
