There is a gorgeous gambeson of singular beauty, which we even grudge to sell, but we pushed ourselves to do that. Truly royal thing, not even because of splendid brocade as outer fabric of this good-looker. A far predecessor – pourpoint of Charles de Blois, dated by the middle of the XIV century and familiar to everyone, makes this medieval gambeson a royal one.

Inspired by the royal ensemble of the golden brocade, we designed the same rich and a little bit more comfortable version.

Style “pourpoint à grandes assiettes” was very popular in the XIV-XV centuries. It had uncommon scyes of sleeves, which allowed tight fitting of gambeson jacket on the body and keep extra movability.

There is not a battle underarmor, but showy festive padded gambeson. Archaeologists confidently refer pourpoint of Charles de Blois to parade civil clothing. And, he was not a single fashionista like this.

Modern gambeson is fastened with dozens of metal buttons on the chest and sleeves. However, by custom order, we may replace buttons with traditional fastening with stuffed buttons, so gambeson would be indistinguishable from its famous ancestor.
