A buckler (French bouclier 'shield', from Old French bocle, boucle 'boss') is a small shield, 15 to 45 cm (6 in to 18 in) This model has 30 cm in diameter, hot-forged umbo of 3.5 mm steel, leather edging, wooden handle and belt hook. It's comfortable and durable buckler, well suited to attacking tactics of warfare. Fist shields of this type are known from Germanic and Celtic tribes. Buckler is little round shield was know from the VII in Byzantine Empire and became very popular among medieval european warrior in XII-XVII centuries. Often, spikes had been installed to the buckler. This shield is used not only for defence, but also for stroke with side or central part. Shield has fist hold and is used with sword. It's lightness and small size allow to bring this shield on the belt - a hook is installed form the inside. This model of medieval buckler with steel edging has diameter 30 cm (12 inches) and is made of steel 2.5 mm. Handle is covered with leather and is bolted with two rivets. The base price is for buckler in normal steel 1.0 mm. If you're going to use it in balttles, we recommend to order this shield in normal steel 1.5 mm or stainless steel 2.0 mm.
